Quordle Sequence Today: Hints and Answers

Sequence mode shows you one board and hides the other three. You cannot see the second word until you solve the first. That one rule changes how you should spend your ten guesses.

The hints below open a step at a time, so you take only the help you need. When you want a fresh four board game instead, you can play Quordle here. The puzzle shown is the quordle.uk daily Sequence set, and it changes at midnight.

How Sequence mode works

You get ten guesses to find four hidden words. Only board one is visible when you start. Green, yellow and gray tiles appear on that board alone.

Solving board one opens board two. The rows you already typed fill in with colors for the new board straight away. The same thing happens again for board three and board four.

The order never changes. Top left comes first, then top right, then bottom left, then bottom right. If the basics are still new, the standard rules sit on our how to play Quordle page.

Where your ten guesses should go

What most players miss

Every word you type is scored against all four answers, including the ones you cannot see. When a board opens, those rows light up at once. Your first guesses are quietly building a case file on three hidden words.

Four boards and ten guesses leaves very little room for waste. A workable budget is three guesses for board one, then two or three for each board after it. Going over on the first board is what ends most runs.

So spread your letters wide while the boards are still dark. Two openers with ten different letters give you a real head start. Our list of the best starting words for Quordle shows pairs that cover the common letters. The wider method sits on the Quordle strategy page.

What to do the moment a board opens

Stop and read before you type anything. A board that has just opened already holds every guess you made, now colored in.

Count the greens and yellows first. You often find three or four confirmed letters sitting there for free. That is usually enough to skip a scouting word and go straight to a real attempt.

If the letters still point at several possible words, the Quordle solver will rank them for you.

How to read the hints above

The steps run from soft to hard. Vowel counts narrow the shape of a word without naming a single letter, so they rarely spoil anything.

The repeated letter step matters more here than in standard play. A double letter covers fewer new letters, and coverage is what you need while three boards are hidden.

After that come rare letters, shared letters and first letters. The answers sit at the bottom and open one board at a time, in the order you would solve them.

Mistakes that end a run early

The most common one is treating board one like a normal Quordle board. Players spend six guesses making it safe, then face three unseen words with four guesses left.

The second is ignoring the rows that fill in when a board unlocks. Those rows are free information and plenty of players type straight past them.

The third is guessing words with double letters early. Save those until a board is open and the pattern actually calls for one.

Questions players ask

How many guesses do you get in Sequence mode?

Ten. Standard Quordle gives you nine with all four boards in view. Sequence adds one extra guess because you start out solving blind.

Why can I only see one board?

That is the whole point of the mode. Boards two, three and four stay hidden until the board before them is solved.

Do my guesses count on the boards I cannot see?

Yes. Every guess is checked against all four answers. You just do not see the result until that board opens.

Is Sequence harder than the standard daily puzzle?

Most players find it harder. You cannot plan across four boards at once, so your first few guesses are partly blind.

What happens if I run out of guesses?

The run ends there and the remaining words stay unsolved. A new set appears the next day.

Can I replay the same day twice?

No. Each date has one Sequence set, and the words for a date never change.

When does the puzzle change?

At midnight in your own time zone. Someone in another country can already be a day ahead of you. Answer pages will not always match the set on your screen.

Are these the same words as the classic daily puzzle?

No. Sequence runs on its own schedule here, so the four words differ from the standard daily set.
