All the letters are already on the board. You rearrange them into place instead of guessing blind. The rule is 15 swaps, and every puzzle can be solved in 10 or fewer.
Semantle & Contexto
No colors, no letters. Your guesses are ranked by how close they are in meaning to the answer, so “warmer” can mean a completely different word.
Nerdle
Same deduction, same colored feedback, but you’re guessing a math equation instead of a word.
Connections & Strands
Connections has you sort 16 words into four hidden groups. Strands hides a themed set of words in a grid instead of asking you to guess letters at all.

Be careful with old “games like Wordle” lists
This genre moves fast. Games get acquired, redesigned, or shut down, and old roundup articles keep circulating anyway.
The original Spotify-owned Heardle is a real example. It shut down in 2023. Any “Heardle” you find today is a successor or a clone using the same name, not the original service. We left it off this list rather than repeat a claim we couldn’t stand behind.
