Why 21 guesses feels tight

The same “+5” pattern, all the way up to 16 boards

Wordle gives six guesses for one answer. Dordle gives seven for two. Quordle gives nine for four. Octordle gives thirteen for eight. Sedecordle gives twenty-one for sixteen, twenty-one minus sixteen is still exactly five. Roughly four guesses to open wide, then close to one clean solve per remaining board.

Managing 16 boards

Three ideas that actually help

Open wide

Spend your first guesses on coverage

Early guesses should reveal high-value letters across as many boards as possible, not chase one board to an early solve.

Don’t isolate

Read all 16 boards after every guess

A guess that helps board 3 might also help board 11. Scan everything before deciding your next word.

Reduce the load

Close easy boards fast

Every solved board is one less thing to track. Finishing an obvious answer frees up mental space for the harder ones.

About this version

An independent 16-board game

This is quordle.uk’s own implementation of the sixteen-board format, not affiliated with any other Sedecordle site. Today’s puzzle uses quordle.uk’s own daily schedule, kept independent from Quordle’s own daily words so playing one game never spoils the other.

FAQ

Sedecordle: quick answers

What is Sedecordle?

A sixteen-board Wordle-style game. One five-letter guess is scored independently against sixteen hidden words, and you have twenty-one shared turns to solve them all.

How many guesses do you get in Sedecordle?

Twenty-one, shared across all sixteen boards.

What happens when I solve a board?

That board freezes and stops receiving new guesses or affecting the keyboard colors for that letter on that board. Your remaining turns go toward the boards still open.

Are any of the 16 words repeated?

No, all sixteen are always different words.

Can I play Sedecordle every day?

Yes. Daily mode gives you a new set of sixteen once a day, scheduled independently from Quordle’s own daily words.

Can I play unlimited Sedecordle?

Yes. Switch to Unlimited mode for a fresh random set any time, with no effect on your Daily streak.

Is Sedecordle harder than Octordle?

It has twice as many boards to track, but the same “+5” spare-guess pattern applies. The extra difficulty comes from managing more simultaneous information, not a fundamentally different ratio of guesses to answers.

Want fewer boards to start?

Quordle keeps the same shared-guess idea with a gentler four boards.
